Web Quest a Great Introduction to the Internet

As a teacher I am often concerned about my students using the internet, however all students are required to be exposed to the technology. A great way to effectively incorporate the internet into your classroom is by using web quests. Web quest provide the students with the opportunity to complete an inquiry project on the internet. The web quest sets the stage for the activity, catching their attention and providing background information. The web quest tells what the students are required to do and the product(s) they are expected to produce. They are given step by step details to complete the project. They are also provided with a rubric to evaluate their product and an opportunity to reflect on the process. This is a good way to keep the students focused and allow them an opportunity to use the internet.
